I SMART

On November 17, 2006, during a performance at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood, California, a cell phone video captured Richards[1][8] shouting “Shut up” at an audience member, followed by “He’s a nigger!” to the rest of the audience[9] (using the word at 6 times altogether), and also making a reference to lynching [10] He was addressing a group of black hecklers.[11] by saying “50 years ago you would have been hanging upside down with a pitchfork up your ass” to a black audience member. Richards made a public apology for his remarks, during a satellite appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman.[12] He described going into a rage and said, “For me to be at a comedy club and to flip out and say this crap, I’m deeply, deeply sorry.” He said he was trying to defuse heckling by being even more outrageous, but that it had backfired. Richards later called civil rights leaders Al Sharpton[13] and Jesse Jackson[14] in order to apologize. He also appeared as a guest on Jackson’s syndicated radio show.[15] A Top Ten List featured on The Late Show in February 2007, titled “Top Ten Ways to Make the Grammy Awards More Exciting” and read by guest Christina Aguilera, mentioned Richards giving out the “rap and hip-hop awards”.[16]

Here it is, almost one year later and he is still out there, free. We must do something about this. Michael Richards should go to jail for his racism. He should be incarcerated for his impermissible use of the word that cannot be used. He also improperly threatened to use a pitchfork, and pitchforks are illegal too.

We live in a country of free speech, and Michael Richards violated that heckler’s right to free speech when he shouted at him from the stage. Michael Richards violated the 1st Amendment and he should also be incarcerated for that.

But no! Michael Richards is still out there, violating the speech rights of hecklers everyday. This cannot be permitted and should not be permitted. This is all George Bush’s fault. First the racist hurricane. Then he starts a fire in San Diego through his Blackwater henchmen.

Yes, Blackwater started that fire according to Randi Rhodes and she is smart. Smarter than George Bush who allows Michael Richards to remain free to violate the 1st Amendment. Michael Richards should be in jail for this hate crime.
